Adeline's Birthday Party!

Adeline's Birthday Party!

Adeline's Birthday Party!

Finally, blogger is cooperating.

Adeline's Birthday Party!

We had Adeline's first birthday party on Sunday (her actual birthday is not until Wednesday). It's so hard to believe she's almost a year old!

Along with her first party came her first real illness. She's had a terrible fever/rash combo since middle of last week, and this put something of a damper on her party. You can tell in some of the pics that she doesn't feel fantastic. She was a little sad too because, since she was still contagious, none of the kiddies we invited could come and play. We missed you Harper, Jackson and Brock! We had a good time with the "adults" though, and Adeline got lots of fun stuff (that David spent the rest of the night putting together). It was so good to see all of you, especially you guys who came a long way to see her (Uncle Justin, Aunt Dawn, and Aunt Judy).

I have lots of pictures, but I'll post the highlights...if my slow internet connection will cooperate! You'll probably notice there is only one picture of Adeline opening gifts, well, it's because I opened most of them. She was interested once I got them opened, but not so interested in the process!

Okay, I have been waiting for my pics to download, and it's not working, will try again later today.

Cotton

Took these the other day, couldn't resist....especially since David has some pictures almost just like this from when he was little.

Lots of things to post.....

First Adeline in her "diva clothes" (that's what David calls this outfit), I call it her J.Lo outfit.

More Homecoming pictures...

Homecoming at MSU

We had so much fun tailgating with everyone! Adeline went non-stop from the moment she saw the other babies and the toys! Harper and Bryce are not so mobile yet, so they really didn't have to be chased all day, but David and I certainly spent our time retrieving Adeline from other tents. We were exhausted when we got home.

One of the best parts of the day was getting to see Uncle Justin and Dawn. Since they are super-busy and important vet school students, we don't get to see them very much. We had to take advantage of the picture opportunities with them (I'm sure you couldn't tell : ) We even got to see Justin's new house for the first time - that's Adeline sitting on his bed in one of the pics.

But, the biggest question of all: BILL HINES! WHERE WERE YOU? I tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with you all day. Hope everything is okay and that you had just lost your phone or something. Adeline was disappointed with not getting to see you. Cousin Bill, phone home!

We loved getting to see all of you that we haven't seen in awhile. The Jolly's (Natalie looks soooo cute, can't believe she only has ten more weeks!), Willis and Shea, Ashley and Russell Young, Matthew and Deena, Betsy, Genin, and so many more!

A few more pictures from Ashley's wedding

Baby in a bowl!

Oh! She's such a climber! I was trying to cook my mom casseroles to freeze, and I was letting Adeline have the run of the kitchen. I turn around and this is what I see! She will climb in (or on) anything that will hold her. This bowl ALMOST holds her! Her favorite thing to sit in is her infant tub, if she can locate it, she spends forever climbing in and out, in and out. At least she plays well!

We are very excited to be going to Homecoming at Mississippi State this weekend! Not necessarily excited about the game, but so psyched about the tailgating! Casey and Bethany are bringing Harper, and Anthony and Brooke Duke will be bringing Bryce. I can't wait! I know Adeline will have a ball.....pictures will be taken!

Thank you!

For your prayers and calls! My mom's surgery went very well. She's feeling none of the pain she had before, only a little soreness from the incision. She can't wait until her back is completely healed and she can pick up her favorite girl!

More later...

I will post the pictures of Ash's wedding later. My mom has back surgery Monday, so say a prayer for her!

More beach pics....

Adeline on the beach!

Well, we made it to Florida...after running out of gas in the middle of the night! Once we recovered from driving all night, the first thing we did was take Adeline down to the water to see how she would like it.

And, at first, she was impressed, but once her hands and feet touched the sand, her love affair with the beach was OVER. From that point on, she couldn't stand the feel of the sand anywhere on her. My little woman never sits still, but she sat on her beach towel and wouldn't move as long as she was surrounded by the dreaded sandy stuff! Not quite the reaction I anticipated. I was all ready to try and stop her from eating it!

I have to say, while she didn't love the beach, she did love being on vacation. She was in the best mood the whole time, which was quite a relief to David and I!

Miss Alabama

Adeline thought this was so much fun last night, and I had to get a picture. In case you can't tell, she's sitting on a map of Alabama while her Dad is trying (quite unsuccessfully) to plan our route to Florida. To my surprise she didn't try to crumple up the map, as she does with most other paper objects. But she did think it was lots of fun to sit on it and kick her feet to make noise.

Mack & Larry

I thought I would introduce you to the "other" members of the family. Meet Mack and Larry. I rescued these two from David's dad's clinic. They were such cute little kittens, and I'm a sucker. They remained nameless (or I guess they were called "the cats") until Vacation Bible School this summer. One of my sweet little second graders, Ashley, felt bad for the cats and suggested the names Mack and Larry. And I thought, sure, why not.

Adeline is CRAZY about these two. She will stand at the door and look at them as long as I'll let her. I can't honestly say the cats are crazy about Adeline, but we're hoping she'll grow on them soon.
